Getting started

Where can I get the app?

DIY Port Days is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. The Android version is still in development. While you wait, the same guides run in any browser at app.diyportdays.com — your account and any unlocked guides carry over to the Google Play app the moment it ships.

Is it really free?

Yes — the app itself is free to download. You only pay if you decide to unlock a port, buy a cruise pass, or subscribe to all-access. You can browse all 25 ports and read the introductions before spending anything.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes, but only an email address — no password. When you sign in we email you a 6-digit code. The account is what keeps your unlocked guides safe and syncs them across devices.

What ports are included?

25 ports across four regions: 13 Caribbean, 2 Atlantic (Key West, Bermuda), 6 Mediterranean (Barcelona, La Spezia, Valencia, Naples, Mykonos, Mallorca), and 4 Alaska (Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, Victoria BC). Browse Caribbean, Mediterranean, or Alaska.

Pricing

What does it cost?

Three options, no monthly subscription:

Single port — $9.99, one walking tour, yours forever.
Cruise pass — $14.99, every port unlocked for 30 days. Best if you're hitting multiple ports on one cruise.
Annual all-access — $29.99/year, every port unlocked all year. Pays for itself in three port purchases.

Which tier should I pick?

Single port if you're visiting one port on one cruise and want to keep that guide forever. Cruise pass if your itinerary has three or more ports — it works out cheaper than buying them individually. Annual if you cruise more than twice a year, are a travel agent, or just want the whole library.

Is one purchase good for my whole travel party?

Yes. Once a port is unlocked, walk it with your spouse, kids, or friends — no per-person charge. To use the same purchase on more than one phone, sign in with the same email on each device and your unlocks follow.

Offline use & syncing

Will it work without internet at sea or in port?

Yes. Save a guide while you have a signal (ship Wi-Fi works fine), and the full guide stays on your phone — including the directions, photos, food picks, and tips. Airplane mode in port is fine.

Will my unlocked guides sync across my devices?

Yes. Sign in with the same email on your iPhone, iPad, or in your browser at app.diyportdays.com and your purchases come with you. Switch phones? Sign in on the new one — everything you bought is still there.

Refunds

How do I get a refund?

Refunds go through whoever processed the payment:

App Store — request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's 14-day window applies.
Browser purchases via PayPal — email hello@diyportdays.com and we'll handle it.

Account & data

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Account → Delete My Account. Or email hello@diyportdays.com. Either path removes your email address and purchase records within 30 days. (Apple App Store purchase records are kept by Apple separately, on their schedule.)

What data do you collect?

Your email address (for sign-in), and a record of which guides you've unlocked (so they sync across devices). That's it. We don't access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos. Full details are on our Privacy Policy.
